Book Editing

When I’m not hunting through the web for agents or obsessively revising or otherwise working on my book, I spend my time…you guessed it: editing other people’s books!

I know, I know, it’s a lot of reading—but I love it. I professionally edit ten times the amount of words I write in any given year. As of July 2025, I have completed over 1,000 orders. Some of them have been flash fiction, others 200,000-word behemoths that I will laud till the end of time.

When I told people I was going to study Comparative Literature in university, a lot of them said, “What are you gonna do with that?”

Ask me again today, and I’ll tell you, “You can find me on Fiverr.”

what i do

“So, you just proofread other people’s work?”

Yes and no. That’s quite literally the most basic part of what I do. In addition to correcting your grammar, spelling, and punctuation, I will tell you how the book makes me feel, if I relate to the characters, if a chapter is boring, among many other thoughts, but as an editor, I will also advise you on how to improve those issues.

I specialize in full-length fiction novels. More than the genre or length, I edit stories that draw the reader in and refuse to let them go. Message me with your short story collection or novella—I welcome all queries!

what i offer
  • Proofreading (grammar, spelling, and punctuation)
  • Sentence structure / word choice
  • Readability and logical flow
  • Detail consistency
  • Plot development and structure
  • Removing extraneous/repetitive material
  • Constructive feedback about the overall piece

work with me

I could go on and on and on about how great I am at my job, but it will never equal the actual experience of hiring me. My availability fluctuates from month to month, but if I believe I’m the right editor for your project, then I will do my best to fit you into my schedule!

All you have to do is message me on Fiverr with a brief description of your book, the word count, and your editorial needs. I’m excited to see what you’ve got!

And if I haven’t convinced you enough with my own words, how about trusting the word of my previous buyers?

She’s detail-oriented and comfortable pointing out areas for improvement, and is a great communicator to boot. I feel like everything she’s looked at has come out clearly better on the other side! After working with her on six separate books, I would give her the strongest possible endorsement as an editor.

She’s not afraid to tell it like it is. It might not be the news the author wants to hear, but its always in the service of strengthening the story.

She’s fantastic at her job, spots the little things I never would have thought of, and the way she delivers feedback is right up my alley. I’m a sensitive flower, so criticism is tough to swallow, but the way Clara delivers it with humour and understanding, as well as the concrete suggestions she makes on improving things were all a massive help – and a relief!

Clara truly took my vision and brought it to life in a way that left me genuinely amazed. She understood exactly what I was going for and conveyed it perfectly. Working with her was an absolute pleasure, and I’ll definitely be returning for my next book!

Clara is the editor of my dreams. Clear, kind and constructive. I couldn’t ask for better. I was having serious anxiety about hiring an editor but Clara made the whole experience flow flawlessly. I love that she pointed out some stuff that I knew and some stuff that I didn’t.

Clara is the reason I pay my internet bill from this point forward. For years, I’ve written novels and my insecurity of being a lousy editor held me back from traditional publishing. Clara’s editing added life to my writing, and I’m feeling even more inspired to write, knowing I can rely on her skills to polish my work.
